ABN AMRO North America, Inc. Announces Formation of the Office of the Chairman And Related Promotions
Norman Bobins to Assume Role of President and CEO Of ABN AMRO North America, Inc.
CHICAGO, Jan 2, 2002 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- ABN AMRO North America, Inc. announces today the formation of the Office of the Chairman.
The Office of the Chairman will be responsible for establishing strategy, setting policies and direction for support organizations, and monitoring and measuring performance of all subsidiaries that make up its North America operations. The Office of the Chairman will include the following responsibilities and corporate officers and will serve as a strategy focused management team effective January 1, 2002.
Harrison F. Tempest will continue as Chairman of ABN AMRO North America, Inc. and will head up the Office of the Chairman.
Norman R. Bobins, current chairman, president, and CEO of LaSalle Bank has been promoted to president and CEO of ABN AMRO North America, Inc. and will continue to report to Mr. Tempest. In this expanded role, Mr. Bobins will take on the management of all staff functions for ABN AMRO North America, Inc. and retain his titles and responsibilities for LaSalle Bank.
Scott K. Heitmann has been promoted to Vice-Chairman of ABN AMRO North America, Inc. and will be responsible for the retail and mortgage lines of business. Mr. Heitmann will also continue his role as Chairman and CEO of Standard Federal Bank N.A. in Michigan.
Thomas C. Heagy will continue as Vice-Chairman and join the Office of the Chairman. He will also continue as Chairman of ABN AMRO North America, Inc's. Asset and Liability Committee. In this expanded role, Mr. Heagy will add the Trust Department of the Midwest Banks and of the Chicago Deferred Exchange to his line of business responsibilities. He will also continue as head of Domestic Treasury and Investment Portfolio Management.
A policy focused corporate management team has been formed and will report to the Office of the Chairman. The policy core team will be responsible for management of human resources, facilities, information technology, banking operations, credit, audit, and legal. The corporate officers and responsibilities include:
Hill Hammock was promoted to Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in early November and will join the policy focused corporate management team. Mr. Hammock oversees operations, human resources, and facilities. In this position, he serves an integral role in the development of the strong and cohesive workplace culture that exists throughout ABN AMRO North America, Inc. Mr. Hammock will continue to report to Mr. Bobins.
Thomas M. Goldstein, executive vice president, has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer and will report directly to Mr. Bobins. Also reporting to Mr. Bobins and part of the policy focused corporate management team are: Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer Herman Siegelaar, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Willie J. Miller, Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Audit Officer Stephen Mack, and Chief Information Officer and Chairman of ABN AMRO Services Company Sam Halim complete the policy focused corporate management team.
