InterFirst Wholesale Lending’s top producing wholesale account executive notes that his average broker funds more than $5 million monthly with him. The key to his success:Â Trust.
The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based wholesaler recently recognized its top sales producers at its annual sales meeting. Shane DeSimone, an Account Executive in the northeast sales region, was named Highest Producing Account Executive with a volume exceeding $691 million in 2004. DeSimone said he has about 45 active accounts, which include both brokers and bankers in the New York, New Jersey and surrounding areas. The monthly average volume from each account, he said, is in the five to six million-dollar range. A New Yorker, 34 year-old DeSimone began his career in the mortgage business as a temporary employee in the file vault about 13 years ago. “It’s a true success story,” he told MortgageDaily.com. “I worked my way up through the company.” |

He said his competitive nature and desire not to fail is what compelled him to attain the success he has today and that the secret to success can be found in building up true partnerships with his accounts.”I build up my accounts beyond the buyer/seller relationship,” he stated. “People can trust me.”
DeSimone said he has followed the advice of a longtime colleague: “With trust comes commitment,” he quoted and then added, “I get things done and I have their trust.”
Evidenced by his achievement, DeSimone’s philosophy is backed by his customers.
Rick Wolkenberg, president of Oceanside, NY-based G. & M. Wolkenberg Mortgage Bankers has been an InterFirst customer for 11 years and said he has an “extraordinary amount” of trust in DeSimone. “If Shane (says) something, it is done,” Wolkenberg said. “That level of trust is what causes us to do the volume of business that we do with InterFirst.”
He said he is honored to work with so many talented people at InterFirst and credits his mentors for much of what he has learned. DeSimone noted that he would strive to remain on top and looks forward to future opportunities with InterFirst.
InterFirst, a division of ABN AMRO, also honored Danielle Simmance as the Manager of the Most Improved Region; Paul Wyner as the Top Regional Manager; and Lisa Lanik as the Sales Representative of the Year.
