While many mortgage firms have been cutting back on staffing as refinance business has dissipated, a number of firms continue to expand their branch networks.
One of those firms, GSF Mortgage Corp., said this week that it opened a second Indiana branch. The owner of the Indianapolis branch is 27-year veteran John B. Westfield.
Earlier this month, GSF reported that it opened a California office. Jonathan Greene is the branch manager of the Golden State location.
In October, GSF announced it opened a Scottsdale, Ariz., branch. The managers are Lisa O'Connor and Gary Curtiss.
A branch was opened within GSF's Brookfield, Wis., headquarters in early October.

A Virginia Beach, Va., branch was opened by Real Estate Mortgage Network Inc., a news release in October said. Mike Ronca was tapped to run the branch.

A Rohnert Park, Calif., branch was opened by San Francisco-based Bay Equity Home Loans, a Dec. 2 news release said. The branch manager is Tim Carroll.

The Executive Mortgage Group Inc. in Derby, Kan., was acquired by Primary Residential Mortgage Inc., the Wichita Business Journal reported. Including three loan originators that transferred from Executive, the branch now has 10 people.

In Medina Ohio, Mortgage Network Inc. said in September that it launched a new branch. Former employee Kurt Rosenwald has returned to lead the office.

Branch operator Inlanta Mortgage Inc. disclosed in September a new office in Oconomowoc, Wis. Steven March and Jason Grubba are jointly in charge of the location.

Among the states that Anikim Credit Corp. is recruiting net branches in is Arizona, California, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
An October announcement from Anikim said it is recruiting net branches for a federally chartered bank.

Seven new branches were announced last month by Patchogue, N.Y.-based MCS Mortgage Bankers Inc. Five New Jersey branches are located in Warren, Manasquan, Paramus, Pennington and North Caldwell. Two Ohio offices are in Dublin and Westlake.
CMC Funding Inc.-subsidiary Cunningham & Co. said in October it was opening branches in Chapel Hill, N.C.; Brentwood, Tenn.; and Chattanooga, Tenn.
Los Angeles-based Cobalt Mortgage said in October it was opening California branches in Beverly Hills, Manhattan Beach and Valencia. Chris Ledlie is overseeing the expansion.
Mortgage Master Inc. announced last month a new branch opened in Austin, Texas. Larry Weisinger was hired as branch manager.

In North Salt Lake City, Nelson Barss was hired by Cobalt Mortgage to manage a new branch and oversee a local expansion, an Oct. 7 news release stated. Cobalt is based in Kirkland, Wash.
A new branch in Baton Rouge, La., was announced in October by Guild Mortgage Co. Richard Allen was hired as branch manager.
Meanwhile, Guild opened a new branch in its home town of San Diego. It's the 10th location in San Diego County. Paul Johnson is leading the operation.
In September, GFI Mortgage Bankers Inc. announced the opening of a branch in Marlton, N.J. Running the office is Craig Reynolds Sr.
A few days earlier, GFI announced a new location in Armonk, N.Y. Carey Hollander is the manager of that office.
Carmel, Ind., is the location of a new Midwest Mortgage Capital branch, a Sept. 20 news release said. The branch manager is Eric Covington.
Inside Mortgage Finance reported in October that Residential Finance Corp. recently closed almost half of its 30 branches.
