Originations Soar at Citi
$31.9 billion Q2 fundings

Quarterly home loan production jumped more than 40 percent at Citigroup Inc.
Second-quarter residential originations were $31.9 billion, according to data reported to MortgageDaily.com today by the New York-based company. (a Citigroup spokesman subsequently issued a statement indicating that production was revised down to $31.3 billion)
Production jumped from $22.4 billion reported for the first quarter based on prior earnings data. During the second-quarter 2008, volume was $28.5 billion.
The report also indicated that the residential servicing portfolio was $767.5 billion as of June 30, down from $783.8 billion three months earlier and $855.5 billion 12 months earlier.
The latest total included $186.3 billion in loans owned by Citi and $581.2 billion in mortgages serviced for others.
Citi previously reported 6.52 percent residential delinquency of at least 90 days as of the end of the second quarter at subsidiary Citi Holdings, which includes CitiMortgage and CitiFinancial.
Earnings at Citigroup improved to $1.4 billion from a $5.3 billion loss recorded in the first quarter. |
