U.S. mortgage bankers begin assembling this weekend in Chicago to study and discuss mortgage technology and mortgage fraud. Other upcoming events are planned for reverse mortgage lenders, mortgage brokers and other mortgage industry players.
The National Technology in Mortgage Banking Conference & Expo is being hosted by the Mortgage Bankers Association from April 25 to April 28. The event is being held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
Among issues to be discussed at the event are automation, eMortgage standards and information security and risk management. Also on the agenda are systems integration and business technologies.
Concurrent sessions include The Role of Technology in Fraud Prevention; Cloud Computing 201 Panel/Debate: Key Issues, Who's in the Clouds and Will Cloud Computing Take Off?; and Filling the Technology Gaps for Better Loss Mitigation. Among other sessions are eRecording: eMortgage's Last Mile, Electronic Appraisal Data Delivery: Getting Ready and Boost Productivity by Automating the Loan Origination Process.

MBA is simultaneously hosting the National Fraud Issues Conference 2010 at the Hyatt. Marketing material for the event indicates that experts will speak about increasing industry cooperation with law enforcement, laws and pending regulations related to reducing fraud, and the future of mortgage fraud prevention in the states and by the federal government.
Around 290 people were registered to attend the mortgage fraud conference as of today.
The Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md., is the site of the Mortgage Lending Industry Strategic Markets and Diversity Conference. The event, which runs from May 5 to May 7, is expected to be attended by mortgage originators, mortgage brokers and wholesale lenders as well as Wall Street and secondary market investors.
Beginning May 13 and lasting through May 16, the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women is holding its 46th National Education Conference and Annual Meeting at the Marriott South Austin in Austin, Texas.
A short distance away, at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country in San Antonio, Texas, the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association is holding its 94th Annual Convention from May 16 to May 18.
In an announcement this week, Veros Software said that journalists Dylan Ratigan, Peter Navarro and Dr. Thomas Eppel will be keynote speakers at its Predictive Methods Conference at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel in Dana Point, Calif., from May 17 to May 19. Navarro is also a business professor at the University of California-Irvine's Paul Merage School of Business.
The 2010 Washington D.C. Policy Conference is being hosted by the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association from June 7 to June 9 at The Liason Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The association noted that an agenda is still being organized for the event.
"NRMLA's Washington Policy Conference is your unique annual opportunity to hear from and interact with the people who make the policy and write the regulations that affect your daily business," the trade group says on its Web site.
MISMO issued a bulletin indicating that its trimester meeting will be held from June 7 to June 10 in Las Vegas.
The National Association of Mortgage Brokers plans to host its mid-year meeting at the Marriott Phoenix Airport on June 24 and 25.
NRMLA heads to the Hyatt Regency Irvine in Irvine, Calif., from July 13 to July 15 as part of its 2010 Roadshow conference series.
From Sept. 18 to Sept. 21, MBA is hosting its Operations Conference at the Gaylord Texan Hotel and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. Then from Sept. 22 to Sept. 24, MBA is hosting its Quality Assurance and Residential Underwriting Conference at the same venue.
MBA then heads back to Washington, D.C., to host its Regulatory Compliance Conference at the JW Marriott Hotel from Sept. 26 to Sept. 28.
The following month, from the 24th to the 27th, MBA is hosting its 97th Annual Convention & Expo at the Atlanta Georgia Congress Center.
