Early-stage delinquency deteriorated last month.
At 12.27 percent, residential delinquency of at least 30 days during June was 20 basis points worse than in May, Lender Processing Services Inc. reported Wednesday. Around 6.5 million mortgages were delinquent as of last month.
The data were derived from LPS’ loan-level database of nearly 40 million mortgages.
Still, the rate came in lower than 13.20 percent in June 2010.
Last month’s delinquency rate included a 4.12 percent foreclosure rate, inching up from 4.11 percent the prior month.
The number of loans in pre-sale foreclosure inventory worked out to 2.2 million loans.
The states with the highest delinquency rates were Florida, Nevada, Mississippi, New Jersey and Illinois.
