Loan originators looking for the training they need to become mortgage experts need go no further than their computer.

CampusMBA recently announced a new series of instructor led online courses that include Residential Certified Mortgage Banker prep courses and government housing loan programs.

Using student feedback, the company said it developed “instructor-led web-based courses designed for individuals who want to benefit from the assistance and expertise of a seasoned professional and teacher.” Students have the convenience of taking online courses while utilizing the teacher’s assistance with course work and also have classroom interaction with other students through a discussion board, the announcement said.

“Traditionally, students taking online courses offered by CampusMBA were able to complete the coursework at their own pace and had access to an industry expert when they had questions,” Dan Thoms, vice president of education for MBA, which offers the courses at www.CampusMBA.org, stated in the news release.

The courses run from three to six weeks in length and have a set curriculum that includes homework assignments, student participation activities, and a final exam. The government courses range from $299 to $399 in cost.

UniversalClass.com, Inc., a Manhattan-based online educator provider also offers “Mortgage Loan Officer” and “Mortgage Loan Officer and Processor” instructor-led courses. The course description said it offers basic industry knowledge, how to read related documentation, and offers “practical exercise that applies hypothetical information, putting you in the Mortgage Loan Officer’s shoes.”

The self-paced courses, which cost $65 for the loan officer class and $95 for the combination class are designed for entry-level positions within the industry, according to the company Web site; and is led by a “well-qualified instructor.”

Another company that offers online mortgage training is Mortgage-Education led by Dan Johnson, CEO of Southern Home Financial Inc. Mortgage-Education said it offers comprehensive online courses that are monitored by Johnson and cover a wide range of industry topics including; government loan programs, qualifying, and complete certification.

The education site, online at Mortgage-Education.com, describes the courses as self-paced during an allotted amount of time with a price of range of $149 for a single topic to $1799 for the “College Accredited Complete Mortgage Industry Certification Program.”
