Executive appointments were recently made at the board that disciplines Federal Housing Administration mortgagees, the regulator of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the nation’s credit union regulator. A big mortgage trade group made some appointments of its own.
Nancy A. Murray became secretary of the Mortgagee Review Board at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on April 12, according to a newsletter from Patton Boggs LLP — where Murray was Of Counsel and partner for the past 15 years. At the Washington, D.C.-based law firm, she was a member of the mortgage banking group with a focus on HUD administrative actions and investigations.
On the Mortgagee Review Board, Murray is responsible for staffing its activities. She replaces acting secretaries.
At the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which regulates (and currently controls) Fannie and Freddie, Meg Burns was hired as senior associate director for congressional affairs and communications. In addition, Peter Brereton was named FHFA’s associate director for congressional affairs, and Mary Ellen Taylor was appointed associate director for agency communications.
“Burns, Brereton and Taylor will form the executive team managing the congressional and communications functions of the agency.,” the regulator stated.
National Credit Union Administration Region III Director Alonzo Swann was re-assigned on May 3 to the office of the executive director, an April 30 announcement indicated. He will serve as a special assistant to Executive Director Dave Marquis. NCUA Region II Associated Regional Director of Operations Herb Yolles will fill in as acting director.
Josh Denney was promoted to vice president of public policy at the Mortgage Bankers Association, an April 20 press release said. He’ll oversee day-to-day management of the trade group’s single-family residential mortgage public policy development.
Earlier in the month, MBA announced Gail Cardwell was named senior vice president of commercial-multifamily. She most recently served as president and chief executive officer of the Manufactured Housing Institute and worked before that at MBA since 1993.
