It took Walsh 11 years, six football teams, 7, 875 yards, 50 interceptions and 40 touchdowns to earn his place in the two Halls of Fame. But after just one year at HomeBanc, he had acquired both the Rising Star and Top Gun Rookie Sales Awards. Now, with three years under his belt at HomeBanc, Walsh is Assistant Vice President and Sales Manager.
Walsh said HomeBanc has leading marketing alliances with both real estate offices and builders, which could explain why HomeBanc was ranked as the No. 1 mortgage lender referred by real estate agents and brokers in a study by Campbell Communications April of 2004.
"You show the value you can add to your REALTOR's business by closing loans quickly. You get the referrals. You sell yourself, you sell your business," Walsh stated. "From a product standpoint we do everything from government loans to jumbo loans. HomeBanc has a stellar reputation in the market place."
Walsh said HomeBanc is a comprehensive mortgage company that deals mainly with new purchase lending (70%), and it originated $6 billion in loans last year. "We've been the number one lender in Atlanta since 1992," he explained of HomeBanc's success.
Walsh compared a cheering stadium to one of the many triumphant closings he has attended. "When the people are happy to sell and happy to buy, it's kinda like your own standing ovation," he concluded.
