Servicers that are approved to service loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration can now go online to learn about a range of servicing subjects.

In Mortgagee Letter 2009-45 issued yesterday, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced the availability of its EClass system, a Web-based training application. The system provides continuing education for issues that HUD has received the most questions about.

Aside from a standard Web browser, users only need to have Adobe’s Acrobat Reader and Flash Player 7 plug-in installed on their computers. Users will need to enter their Mortgagee ID Numbers.

EClass provides addition training for FHA loss-mitigation programs, including training for the FHA Home Affordable Modification Program.

Among 12 modules are early delinquency servicing activities, the special forbearance option and the partial claim option. It also covers the pre-foreclosure sale program, deeds-in-lieu of foreclosures and extensions as well as HUD’s single-family default monitoring system and its tier ranking system.

“The system tracks progress of trainees, scores tests online, and creates and prints certificates of completion,” the letter stated. “The system also allows trainees to register for instructor-led classroom training.”

HUD noted that technical support inquiries should be directed to [email protected] with a copy to [email protected].
