Indymac Bank's relocation of an operations center will create more job opportunities in California.
The lender announced on Monday that it will relocate its full-service regional mortgage center to the Sacramento suburb of Rancho Cordova.
With 34,000-plus square feet, the new center is double the size of the previous location in Sacramento and allows for the addition of 80 new employees.
The center's jobs will encompass underwriting and funding, various support positions, and sales, the Indymac Bancorp Inc. subsidiary said.
"This expansion is a reflection of Indymac's growth not only in California, but across the U.S., as we open new offices and expand existing regional centers," said Frank Sillman, chief executive officer of Indymac's mortgage bank, in the written statement. "It is an exciting time to be at Indymac as we increase our team of mortgage professionals in order to best serve our customers locally and across the country."
When the facility is fully staffed, Indymac will reportedly have more than 220 employees in the Sacramento area.
Nationwide, Indymac operates 16 regional mortgage centers and employs over 3,500 mortgage professionals, according to the announcement.
