Biggest Independent Lender Says Housing Recovery Here

The owner of the company that claims to be the biggest independent mortgage firm in America says the housing market is already in recovery mode.
Leif Thomsen, founder and chief executive officer of Mortgage Masters Inc., talked about the housing market on CNBC.
With $10 million in income, the Danish immigrant was namedMortgageDaily.com's "Icon of 2003." Now, according to CNBC, the Walpole, Mass.-based company is the largest independent lender in the country with $6 billion in annual originations.
"I feel that we have already seen it," Thomsen said when asked about when a housing recovery can be expected.. "We had a huge surge in applications for purchase loans for March and April."
Thomsen noted that new activity has not slowed despite the expiration of the tax credit.
