WASHINGTON — A proposal from the Department of the Treasury would require more than 30,000 mortgage brokers and non-bank mortgage lenders to file Suspicious Activity Reports with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network when mortgage fraud is suspected. Mortgage bankers have thrown their support behind the proposal.
