|Traffic Skyrockets At MortgageDaily.com
IRVING, TX (February 4, 2002) MortgageDaily.com announced today that user sessions and page views climbed significantly from December. The activity during January was at the highest level ever.
User sessions, which reflect how many times anyone accessed the site, were 85,306, a 106% increase from last month. Much of the increase in user sessions can be attributed to the use of HTML emails, which basically delivers an entire web page to the email inboxes of more than 25,000 mortgage industry email addresses.
"Our use of HTML emails has had a great impact on activity," said MortgageDaily.com chief Sam Garcia. "When I was a young paperboy for the Orange County Register, my goal was to deliver the news -- which was usually a day old -- to the porches of my customers. Never did I dream I would write and publish news that was delivered to their desk, bed or wherever they use their computer."
Page views, a measure of the available supply of advertising space, were 145,312, a seventeen percent increase over December. Page views exclude HTML emails as described in the previous paragraph.
"While the press releases we publish cover important industry issues and announcements, the subject matter for our feature stories is determined by our readers," said Mr. Garcia. "We analyze the most-read stories of the past to determine what we'll write about going forward."
The top three most-read stories during January were:
- Loan Officer Sentenced In 'Flipping' Scam
- Former Las Vegas Mortgage Broker Sentenced
- HUD Suspends FHA Lending Authority For Two Lenders
Behind the U.S., Canada and Austria were the countries from where the most sessions originated.
