Some mortgage bankers continue to execute their tried-and-true growth strategy of recruiting existing branch operations, while other focus on opening brand new branches.
A pair of Tennessee branches were opened by Dallas-based Supreme Lending, according to a news release last month.
A Baton Rouge location is being managed for Supreme Lending by William Walker, while a Shreveport branch is being run by Tammy McKee.
Supreme was founded in 1999 by Scott Everett and says it is licensed in 44 states. Supreme is online at www.supremebranch.com.
A promotional statement this week in Rob Chrisman's Daily Mortgage News & Commentary indicated that Supreme has recruited 36 branches and 184 associates during the past five months. New branches originate between $50 million and $450 million a year.
A branch was opened in Bellevue, Wash., by Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group Corp., the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based company announced in February. A second Michigan branch was added in Suttons Bay by GSF Mortgage, the Brookfield, Wis.-based company reported in January. Eighteen-year mortgage veteran Martin Siklich has been appointed branch manager. GSF's website address is www.gogsf.com.
Churchill Mortgage announced last month the opening of a Kansas City, Mo., branch. It was the sixth branch opening in the past year
The Brentwood, Tenn.-based firm also reported last month that it opened a branch in Orange, Calif. The branch, which is being led by Nick Williams, will handle Churchill's business from all over Southern California.

Between 12 and 15 new offices are expected to be opened in Arizona, California and Nevada by Freedom Mortgage Corp. during the next 18 to 24 months, the Mount Laurel, N.,J.-based company said late last year. Freedom recruits branches online at www.fmbranch.com.
The opening of new mortgage branches in San Diego for a multi-state lender was handled by AnikimCreditCorp.com, a news release last week said.
The Diamond Mortgage Group LLC and its four mortgage professionals will now operate as a Southeast Connecticut branch of Prospect Mortgage LLC. Sherman Oaks, Calif.-based Prospect said that the new branch will serve the entire state of Connecticut.
Scott Reid is leading an expansion by Waterstone Mortgage Corp. into the New England market, Foster's Daily Democrat reported. New Hampshire branches are planned in Manchester and Newington, while Massachusetts branches are planned for Augusta, Maine and Newburyport.
