As fourth quarter fundings rose to the highest level of 2004 at SunTrust Banks Inc., annual volume was off by almost one-third.
Loan production of $7.9 billion, was up from the third quarter's $7.0 billion, according to an e-mailed statement from SunTrust spokesman, Jim Hines.
Volume in 2004 amounted to $30.2 billion -- falling from the previous year's $43.7 billion, Hines said.
The size of the servicing portfolio at the fourth quarter's end totaled $77.7 billion, up 13% from a year earlier, the statement read.
The Atlanta-headquartered banker announced annual net income of nearly $1.6 billion rose 2% over 2003.
