Two separate offerings promise to help lenders identify mortgages that loan applicants fail to disclose through new technology alliances. Other digital advances offer improvements to marketing and origination.
DataVerify has integrated a search of the Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems Inc. database into its Data Risk Intelligent Verification Engine to detect undisclosed mortgage transactions, an announcement Wednesday said. The DRIVE anti-fraud protection platform immediately provides a detailed response that lists all MERS' registered mortgages closed by the borrower.
A new module for FraudGUARD identifies and manages potential occupancy and ownership misrepresentations in loan files, Interthinx Inc. announced. The module includes an analysis of the borrower' property-ownership history and new alerts that enable mortgage lenders to identify undisclosed properties and uncover investors who falsely claim to live in the subject property.
Interthinx said occupancy status is among the most common types of mortgage fraud and noted it is involved in 10 percent of the files FraudGUARD scores as "high risk." The service also identifies seller carry-back financing, foreclosures and unidentified addresses.
"The new occupancy and ownership module of FraudGUARD analyzes detailed borrower ownership data from deed and assessment records and helps lenders assess a borrower's ownership history with interactive timelines," the statement said.
The Point Software Development Kit facilitates integration with a an originator's internal applications or with third party vendors looking for a two-way interface with Point loan origination software, Calyx Software announced. Among applications that can be integrated are customer relationship management systems, sales tools and lead generation software.
An alliance between Mortgage-Track.com and Pitney Bowes AAS/pmh promises to help mortgage brokers reach more prospective borrowers through online marketing resources. The offering enables brokers to create custom direct marketing pieces using pre-designed templates and an extensive creative image library. Postcards and letters can be sent to a targeted mailing list using a range of data options including demographic selections, geographic areas and list size.
MLCalc.com is offering free mortgage payment calculators for Web sites. The widget, which just requires a block of HTML code to be inserted on the Web page, displays the results without going to another Web site.
A new two-way mobile banking and bill pay product suite has been launched by Fidelity National Information Services Inc., a press release Tuesday said. The offering involves an alliance with ClairMail Inc. and mFoundry.
Fidelity said the core-based mobile solution that will ensure consistency between the mobile channel and core banking transaction data and be available as a managed service offering or an on-premise implementation. The hosted platform will be interfaced with FIS solutions, including core, Internet banking, commercial cash management, bill pay, prepaid, debit and credit card.
E-LOAN announced it rank as the No. 1 Web site on the Keynote Q2 2008 Mortgage Scorecard -- the fifth time it has achieved the top ranking. The a bi-annual study measures the customer experience of leading mortgage Web sites.
The Internet lender said it topped three out of four categories analyzed by the scorecard, including applying for first mortgage, applying for home loan or home-equity line-of-credit and learning.
