Among mortgage-related organizations to be designated among the top employers in their communities are a financial institution regulator, a mortgage insurer and several mortgage bankers.
The National Credit Union Administration ranked ninth out of 27 in the Partnership for Public Service’s 2016 Best Places to Work among federal agencies between 1,000 and 14,999 employees.
Alexandria, Virginia-based NCUA’s statement Monday said it improved in several areas of satisfaction. Its rankings improved in nearly every category including innovation and work-life balance.
The regulator was reportedly given strong ratings for teamwork, effective supervisor leadership and skills matching.
New American Funding said on Dec. 12 that the Orange County Register ranked it as No. 1 on its list of Top Workplaces in Orange County. Its standing improved from No. 3 in 2015. New American has been on the list for five consecutive years.
Tustin, California-based New American reports a staff o 2,300 employees, including 1,200 hired this year. It said its standing was determined based on survey results from employees about key areas related to its work culture including the strength of its values, its effectiveness and the ability for employees to reach their potential..
The Oklahoman Top Workplace distinction was awarded to Gateway Mortgage Group LLC for 2016, according to a Dec. 13 news release. It also made the list in 2013 and 2014.
Gateway
reported 700 employees as of May 17. It projects nearly $5 billion in full-year 2016 originations, and it services more than $11 billion in home loans. An 85,000-square-foot expansion at its headquarters in Jenks, Oklahoma, will allow for the expansion up to 600 employees.
On the Glassdoor Best Places to Work in 2017, Homeside Financial was No. 38. The findings were based on reviews from current and former employees.

Utah Community Credit Union was No. 44 on the Glassdoor ranking.
Mortgage WOMEN Magazine named Radian Guaranty Inc. Best Mortgage Company for Professional Women, a Nov. 29 news release said. The ranking was based on a survey sent to over 1,400 financial institutions that have mortgage company licenses recognized by the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry.
The survey looked the share of women on staff, share of women among top-earnings executives and the number of women reporting directly to the chief executive officer. It also considered policies for maternity and paternity leave, executive coaching, and mentorship opportunities, as well as flextime availability.

Cornerstone Home Lending Inc. was named a Houston Chronicle Top Workplace. The list recognized the leading 150 employers based on survey responses from 76,694 area employees at companies with staffs of at least 50 people.
