Upcoming events for the mortgage industry include regulator-hosted workshops, housing policy gatherings and an e-signature convention. Private lenders are also planning to meet in Sin City.

Mortgage Daily's conference calendar has 66 mortgage-related events scheduled during the next 90 days -- including 22 in July, 15 in August and 29 in September.

On July 8 and July 9, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is hosting its Risk Assessment and Credit Risk workshops at the Westin Seattle in Seattle. The $99 event is targeted at directors of national community banks and federal savings associations and limited to 35 registrants.

Taught by experienced OCC supervision staff, the risk assessment workshop discusses the OCC's approach to risk-based supervision and best practices to identify, measure, monitor and control risk.

The focus of the credit risk workshop is the roles of the board and bank management, current events and emerging industry trends. The workshop also covers a range of credit issues including the credit approval process, managing credit risk and collections.

Registration for all OCC workshops is online at

The same OCC workshops are being held in Minneapolis on July 22 and July 23 at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis.

Then, from July 28 through July 30, the OCC is holding the workshop, Mastering the Basics: A Director’s Challenge. The workshop promises to provide practical information on the roles and responsibilities of a community bank director. It will cover the regulatory environment, board reports and bank ratings.

American Enterprise Institute Resident Fellow and Co-director of International Center on Housing Risk Edward Pinto is scheduled to speak on Sept. 9 at the 2014 American Mortgage Conference. The topic of Pinto's presentation is, "The Road to a Stable Housing Finance Market."

The full event starts on Sept. 8 and ends on Sept. 10. It is being hosted by the North Carolina Bankers Association at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley in Raleigh, N.C.

The Renaissance in Downtown Washington, D.C., is the location of the Bipartisan Policy Center 2014 Housing Summit. The event takes place from Sept. 15 to Sept. 16. It costs $395 up until July 11 then increases to $495 after that date.

The summit is expected to be attended by "hundreds of private sector experts, elected officials, academics and housing practitioners" who will participate in housing policy debates and network.

From Nov. 9 through Nov. 11, the American Association of Private Lenders is holding its 2014 Annual Conference at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The group calls the event "the one-stop destination for the private lending industry decision-makers and influencers."

The cost of the AAPL conference ranges from $549 to $849, depending on whether registration is completed by Sept. 1.

The day after the AAPL event ends, the eSign Records 2014 begins and continues until Nov. 13. The conference, hosted by the Electronic Signature & Records Association, takes place at the Convene - Financial District in New York.

eSign costs between $545 and $994 depending on the type of attendee and if registration is completed by Aug. 15. The event is being promoted as a forum for professionals to exchange expertise with colleagues from around the world and build connections.
