Among several management appointments announced by mortgage firms during the past week were promotions and new hires. One company owner is a semifinalist in a competition for an entrepreneurial award.
Robert B. Eastep has been hired as the new chief financial officer of Stonegate Mortgage Co., the Indianapolis-based company said Monday. He was recruited from his job as president and chief executive officer of Union Mortgage Group.
Eastep, who is reportedly a certified public accountant, previously served as CFO of Morgan Stanley-subsidiary Saxon Mortgage.
“Rob has a wealth of experience as a public company CFO and board member, and he will be a valuable addition to our executive team,” Stonegate Founder and CEO Jim Cutillo said in the announcement. “I look forward to working closely with him as we work to grow our business and enhance our relationships with the financial community.”
Eastep is takes over on May 9 from John Macke, who is being moved to his former position of executive vice president – capital markets.
At Wingspan Portfolio Advisors, Vice President of Business Development Eshna Ghosh has been promoted to a newly created position of senior vice president for business development. Prior to starting at Wingspan in 2011 as director of recruiting, Ghosh worked as a recruiter at Saxon Mortgage.
“Ghosh is a multifaceted mortgage expert, having worked as a senior executive in servicing, secondary marketing and securitization, as well as on the origination side of the business,” the announcement said.
The CEO of New American Funding, Rick Arvielo, is a semifinalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2014 Award in Orange County, a news release last week said. The designation is a recognition of entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
Last week, Commerce Mortgage announced that the president of its wholesale division, Shabi Asghar, was elected as chapter president of the Orange County California Association of Mortgage Professionals for the 2014-2015 fiscal year.
Cherry Creek Mortgage Company Inc.-subsidiary 1st Reverse Mortgage USA announced sweeping executive changes Monday. Among the changes was Vice President of Business Development Timothy M. Harder’s added responsibility of retail direct and coordination liaison with Cherry Creek branches.
Sarah Hulbert has taken the role of quality assurance officer, 1st Reverse said. Hulbert reportedly has more than two decades’ experience in reverse lending.
The new regional manager for the Southwest at imortgage is Paul Ramos, an April 23 statement said. He left Green Tree Servicing LLC in March. Ramos’ 25 years in the business included time at GMAC Mortgage, MetLife Home Loans and Bank of America Home Loans, according to his Linkedin profile.
Peter Sotoloff has resigned his position as managing director and head of originations at The Blackstone Group LP, according to a story published by Commercial Mortgage Alert. Sotoloff reportedly is leaving to build a similar business elsewhere.
