Some of the country’s biggest mortgage banking firms have made changes to their management ranks. Most of the recent executive activity was on the production side.
David E. Kress has been promoted to general counsel of Indianapolis-based Stonegate Mortgage Corp., a Nov. 4 press release from the residential lender indicated.
Kress was promoted
from his role as associate general counsel, which he took on in February 2014. He worked in private practice for 15 years before joining Stonegate.
Also at Stonegate, an announcement Tuesday indicated that Jeff Keiser
was hired as regional vice president, retail mortgage lending. His two decades in the business most recently included nine years at U.S. Bank Home Mortgage.
In Irving, Texas, Caliber Home Loans Inc. said last week that Matt Schilling was appointed senior vice president of strategic growth. Shilling’s more than 20 years’ experience included eight years at Bank of America Corp.-Countrywide Financial Corp.
Ocwen Financial Corp.’s senior vice president of lending, James Cotton, left last month to take on the role of senior vice president, mortgage originations, at PenFed Credit Union, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before joining Ocwen in 2013, Cotton spent more than a decade at Freddie Mac.
An Oct. 31 news release from Sterling National Bank indicated that Jeff Bonner
was hired as managing director and vice president of the bank’s residential mortgage warehouse lending department. He was recruited from Santander Bank, N.A., where he spent less than a year. Bonner’s prior employers also include OneWest Bank and New York Community Bancorp.
The new region manager in Central Texas for New Penn Financial LLC is Tera Gilbert. During the 10 years leading up to her stint at New Penn, Gilbert rose from loan processor to region manager.
Marketplace Home Mortgage announced Wednesday that its chief operating officer, Elly Cumings, earned a Certified Mortgage Banker designation from the Mortgage Bankers Association. She’s been at the Edina, Minnesota, firm since last year.
