Recent hirings and planned recruiting by home lenders and mortgage service providers across the country have created opportunities and new jobs for hundreds of people.

Movement Mortgage LLC is relocating its operations center from Virginia Beach, Virginia, to Norfolk, Virginia, a recent statement from Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe said.

The fast-growing home lender, which previously reported a national staff of 3,373 as of March 31, will spend $2 million to complete the relocation, the announcement indicated.

In addition to retaining 550 jobs from the old location, Movement Mortgage will create 200 new jobs.

"We are excited to make a long-term investment by adding jobs and partnering with the Commonwealth of Virginia and the City of Norfolk," Movement Mortgage Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Casey Crawford said in the statement. "Our company began here, and we are continuing to expand with the talented and dedicated people we are able to recruit and hire in this region."

Information about available positions at Movement Mortgage is online at www.movement.com/careers/.

During the first quarter of this year, Churchill Mortgage Corp. added 28 new employees. The recruits work at seven branches in Colorado, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Total headcount at Brentwood, Tennessee-based Churchill reportedly stood at 382 people as of March 31.

McLean Mortgage Corp. reported that it increased its total sales force of 90 loan officers and loan assistants by nearly 20 percent this past winter.

Fairfax, Virginia-based McLean Mortgage previously reported a national staff of 234 employees as of March 31, 2016.

A job fair is being held on Tuesday in in St. Paul, Minnesota, by Indecomm Global Services. The mortgage service provider seeks closers, processors and underwriters.

"Indecomm is providing mortgage professionals with an opportunity to walk in with their resume and have an on-the-spot interview," a news release said. "This event offers professionals the chance to share their skill sets in person, directly with recruiters."

Last week, Indecomm held a job fair in Charlotte, North Carolina, to recruit PCQC auditors in addition to processors, closers and underwriters.

An Indecomm spokeswoman declined to provide details about the number of people being hired.
