Mortgage firms that are currently hiring include residential loan servicers and home lenders that are recruiting loan originators.

In Elma, N.Y., a new facility being opened by Seneca Mortgage Servicing LLC will create room for an additional 250 employees, a June 2 statement said. Seneca, which already has a staff of 300, plans to complete the hirings over five years.

Seneca said it has acquired mortgage servicing rights on 20,000 loans for $20 billion since it opened its doors in September 2013. It plans to move to the new space from its Depew, N.Y., headquarters sometime this summer.

Selene Finance LP is seeking approval from Jacksonville, Fla., to expand its operations in the city. The deal calls for $105,000 in tax refunds from Jacksonville and $420,000 from the state of Florida.

In return, Selene will create 105 jobs by December 2015 with an average annual salary of $48,813 — an amount that is 115 percent of the local average private-sector wage — according to a public filing by the city.

A rush of new Realtor commitments has prompted Kevin Leonard to launch a recruiting campaign for loan originators in Orange County, Calif. Leonard, who claims to have been the “the top producing loan officer in the country,” said in an announcement Friday that his team recently established a partnership with “Orange County real estate agent banker.”

But job openings are only for the best qualified mortgage professionals, the statement said. For those who make it, competitive pay and good healthcare benefits await them.

Leonard is also recruiting entire branches.

“The mortgage professional is also promoting mortgage branch opportunities that are available for small groups of loan officers doing some type of reasonable loan volume per month,” the statement said. “Some of these mortgage branches may be looking to move from broker to banker, and others may not like the lender that they currently work for varies reasons.

“Whichever the case, Kevin Leonard says they have plenty of great mortgage bankers looking to facilitate their loan production volume.”

Supreme Lending said last week that it was named to the Austin Business Journal’s 2014 list of the Best Places to Work in Central Texas. The 70 firms on the list reportedly have between 21 and 50 employees.

The newspaper considered 276 nominated companies.
