Five hundred U.S. home lending jobs are being created by Nationstar Mortgage LLC as the company changes its staffing strategy.
The Dallas-based company reported Wednesday that it is moving its international call center operations back to the United States.
Nationstar says it maintains domestic call centers in Chandler, Arizona; Dallas; and Longview, Texas — which opened last year.
Three million customers are served by Nationstar.
The international call center had been managed by an outside vendor. But U.S. call centers are operated by Nationstar.
Nationstar Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jay Bray explained borrowers have indicated they prefer to speak to American-based representatives.
“So we prioritized that feedback and have invested in moving all of our call center operations back to the United States,” Bray said in the announcement.
Nationstar reported a U.S. staff of 7,700 employees as of May 2.
