At the top of the headlines for loan origination systems is the recent service outage at Ellie Mae. A range of other LOS providers have been touting new clients, including a reverse mortgage lender, and product integrations with providers of appraisal services and risk mitigation.
Ellie, which experienced a system outage beginning March 31, said by April 3 that service was restored. Issues might still occur, however, with some document services and the Encompass home page.
An April 1 press release from the Pleasanton, Calif.-based company said that it suspected malicious attacks were behind the outage.
"Ellie Mae has detected unusually high demand for services consistent with an external malicious attack characteristic of a distributed denial of service," the statement said. "The company has taken actions to isolate the suspicious activity and prevent future unwarranted access."

On the day the outage started, Woburn, Mass.-based LoyaltyExpress announced it completed an integration with the Encompass mortgage management solution. LoyaltyExpress said it has many clients in common with Ellie.
Three days earlier, First Look Appraisals said it completed a software integration with Ellie, a Mortgage Daily advertiser. First Look is an appraisal management company operating from Chicago. The statement indicated that Encompass handled 3.5 million loan applications in 2013.
Just two days before that, ValuTrac Software announced an Ellie Mae integration. ValueTrac provides AMC technology. The move promises to automate complicated appraisal steps.
Another Mortgage Daily advertiser, Calyx Software, announced Thursday that it added PointServ Instant Verifications to its Calyx Network. Information about Calyx Point is online at www.calyxsoftware.com.
After switching to Fiserv's Velocity LOS, HAPO Community Credit Union increased its loan origination an processing, a Feb. 25 statement from Fiserv said. Fiserv has more to say about its Velocity LOS at www.Fiserv.com.
Salt Lake City-based International Document Services Inc. said last month that it jointly developed an interface between its document preparation system, idsDoc, and the MortgageFlex LoanQuest LOS.

Superior results have been achieved by Sabadell United Bank, N.A., since implementing OpenClose's multi-channel lending automation platform, a March 19 press release stated. The Florida bank reportedly has grown its lending business "at a very rapid rate" without increasing its staff.

In Southfield, Mich., Mortgage Builder Software said last month that Darien Rowayton Bank, AmericanWest Bank and Landmark Professional Mortgage Co. have joined its list of clients.

360 Mortgage Group LLC announced on March 11 the launch of a new reverse mortgage operations, and it will use RV Exchange as the LOS, ReverseVision Inc. announced last month.

A consortium of wholesalers have banded together to provide mortgage brokers with a free LOS through Liquid Logics. It claims to be the first cloud-based LOS built around the consumer's experience.
Mortgage brokers who utilize members of the consortium don't have to pay a fee when volume goes to consortium members.
However, when asked by Mortgage Daily about which wholesalers are consortium members, a spokeswoman said the company would not release list of lenders.
