Banks might have come out of the financial crisis with a tarnished image, but two are still among the most revered companies in the world.
The most admired company on the globe is Apple, according to Fortune’s annual ranking of the World’s Most Admired Companies.
The ranking of corporate reputations was determined based on a survey of 3,920 executives, directors and analysts. Qualifying companies have at least $10 billion in revenue,
It was Apple’s seventh consecutive year at the top of the list.
Among mortgage-related companies, JPMorgan Chase & Co. topped the list. The New York-based company landed at No. 30 overall.
Chase’s strongest attributes were innovation, people management and financial soundness.
The company also ranked high for long-term investment and quality products and services.
The only other mortgage-related firm to make the list was Wells Fargo & Co.
The San Francisco-based firm was No. 35 on the overall list.
Wells Fargo was made the list because of its use of corporate assets, social responsibility and quality of management.
Fortune also cited Wells Fargo’s financial soundness, long-term investment and quality of products and services among its strongest attributes.
But Wells Fargo didn’t fare so well for its global competitiveness.
