After more than four years on the court dockets, a $165,000 lawsuit against mortgage man Ray Vinson has been settled.
Vinson and Lender Transaction of Camdenton, Missouri, settled the case on Tuesday, shortly before it was set to go before a jury, court records indicate.
In March 2014, the company sued Vinson in St. Louis County Circuit Court, alleging that Vinson Mortgage Services Inc. owed the firm $164,665 for appraising and other real estate services provided in 2012 and 2013.
Vinson countered that he was overbilled for work that his company didn’t order.
Through his long-running radio and television ads, Vinson became a local celebrity by delivering his twangy “99-99” telephone number during the sales spiels.
