The National City Mortgage brand has been retired.
In a news release today, The PNC Financial Services Group Inc. said the former business was re-branded as PNC Mortgage on Nov. 7.
PNC acquired National City Corp. on Dec. 31, 2009.
Subsidiary National City Mortgage originated $43 billion in residential loans during 2007 — about one-tenth of the volume reported by Countrywide Home Loans.
In all, PNC has converted 240 National City Bank branches as well as the accounts of 1.8 million National City customers.
Three additional conversion phases of the two-year integration plan are scheduled for next year.
