Ellie Mae, Inc. DocMagic, Inc. U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California na Ellie Mae allegedly used information gleaned from DocMagic’s loan documentation software to create its own similar and competing software product. DocMagic also filed in San Francisco Superior Court for injunctive relief to prevent Ellie Mae’s unauthorized use of its intellectual property. The judge in the Superior Court action recently denied Ellie’s request to dismiss the action. Ellie had sought dismissal of the Superior Court action on the basis that it was preempted by California’s version of the Uniform Trade Secrets Act. DocMagic, Inc. v.
