LandSafe Appoints Mike Rippy To Chief Technology Officer Position

PLANO, Texas (March 5, 2001) – Mike Rippy, a senior vice president at Countrywide Home Loans, has been named chief technology officer of LandSafe, Inc., LandSafe President and Chief Operating Officer Michael Faine announced today. LandSafe, a premier provider of real estate information and closing services, is a sister company of Countrywide Home Loans.

In his new assignment, which is effective immediately, Rippy will be responsible for all technology initiatives for LandSafe and its subsidiaries and will direct the company’s in-house information technology (IT) team, Faine said.‘Technology is a critical component in LandSafe’s ongoing efforts to provide superior customer service and to be recognized throughout the industry as the standard-bearer when it comes to closing services. That is especially true as we integrate all of our functions using common-platform-based Internet technologies and prepare to create a single point of customer contact for

all of our products and services,’ Faine said.’We are very fortunate to have someone with Mike Rippy’s experience, expertise and understanding of IT and its role in improving business performance joining our team at LandSafe.’

Rippy joined Countrywide Home Loans in 1993 as vice president of systems administration based in Simi Valley, California. He was promoted to first vice president in 1995 and moved to Plano, Texas. Prior to joining Countrywide, Rippy was manager of field services for IBM in California for 14 years.
