Origination, production most selected occupation

IRVING, TX (January 10, 2003) — MortgageDaily.com, a premier online mortgage industry news publication, announced Friday that registered users have surpassed 10,000.

MortgageDaily.com implemented the user registration system in August.

About 63% of the users indicated they are in “Loan Origination,” which includes loan officers, loan originators, loan reps, loan sales, mortgage brokers, and anyone else who earns commissions for originating and closing mortgage loans. This is up from 60% in October, when MortgageDaily.com first released user data.

More than 6% of registered users indicated they are in “Loan Production,” among which are included loan processors, sales managers, underwriters, and closers. About 7% indicated they were in loan production last October.

Nearly 6% said they are in “Wholesale Lending,” which includes account executives and their sales managers and quality control personnel. This category was unchanged from the last announcement.

Just more than 3% of registrants indicated that they are a “Mortgage Executive,” down from 4% in October. This category includes vice presidents or higher at a lender with more than 100 employees.

“Secondary Marketing” was selected by approximately 3% of all registered users. In addition to those positions that deal with the buying and selling of closed loans, this category includes warehouse lenders.
