With an eye toward more business, mortgage firms have recently opened dozens of new branches in a number of states.

Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group Corp. announced on Monday the opening of a branch in San Antonio, Texas.

The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based company said the new location will be the cornerstone of its “expansion endeavors in the southern United States.”

Fred Camarillo has been appointed of the San Antonio branch.

A May 9 news release indicated that GSF Mortgage hired Brian Reno to run a branch in its home town of Indianapolis. It’s the fourth branch for GSF in Indiana.

Jonathan Arnold has been hired as production manager for a new Inlanta Mortgage branch in Grand Rapids, Mich., a May 7 announcement indicated.

Brookfield, Wis.-based Inlanta said it “continues to expand branch operations and welcome new talent like Jonathan Arnold.” Prospects can learn more at www.inlantapartners.com.

Sixteen new branches in 10 states have been opened by Republic Mortgage Home Loans, according to a press release earlier this month.

The San Francisco SOMA branch of Guarantee Mortgage will be acquired by Guaranteed Rate Mortgage, an agreement announced Tuesday said. Once the deal closes, Guaranteed Rate will have seven San Francisco-area branches.

More than 25 employees work at the branch, which in 2013 generated more than $0.435 billion in loan production last year, Guaranteed said. Dean Rizzi and C.J. Kerls are the managing partners of the branch.

In Tysons Corner, Va., Carrington Mortgage Services opened its fifth branch in the state, a news release Tuesday said. Terry Rowland has been appointed manager of the branch. Underserved borrowers in the Washington, D.C., area with FICO scores less than 640 are the focus of the new branch.

A month earlier, Carrington reported that offices were opened in Richmond, Va.; Towson, Md.; and Scottsdale, Ariz. The respective managers are Greg Rojakovick, Timothy Hoy and Tyson Rondeau.

Two New Mexico branches have been opened by Guild Mortgage Co., according to a May 8 statement. Both locations, one in Albuquerque and another in Farmington, will be led by Rosa Izzi.

Last month, Guild reported that Rob Denning was named area manager for a new branch in Omaha, Neb., while James Fowler was named manager of a new branch in Harrison, Ark.

Guild reports 200 branches and satellite offices in 23 states.

A pair of former Fairway Mortgage branches in Connecticut have moved over to Village Mortgage Co., an April 4 announcement indicated. The branches are operated by Tom Valyo. Village Mortgage reports that branch count in Connecticut now stands at eight.

In Scottsdale, Ariz., LendSmart Mortgage has opened a new lending center managed by Brian Seligmiller, the Minneapolis-based company announced last month.
