Several real estate finance firms have reported hundreds of hirings they have recently made, while a number of other organizations still have plans to expand their payrolls.

Among five remote careers identified by FlexJobs to watch in 2017 was
“mortgage & real estate” with over 20 percent growth in remote job listings since January 2016.

Boulder, Colorado-based FlexJobs indicated that it
analyzed more than 100,000 job listings from during the past year to identify five of the top career categories.

“This high growth indicates they will be strong job categories for 2017 as well,” FlexJobs said. “A ‘remote job’ is defined as a professional-level job that allows the worker to telecommute either entirely or part of the time.”

More than 350 new employees were hired between Jan. 1, 2016, and Sept. 15 by Pacific Union Financial LLC, a news release said. Another 100 hirings were planned for the remaining three months of the year.

“Our employees are the backbone of our successful, thriving organization” Pacific Union President and Chief Executive Officer Rick Skogg said in the statement. “As our company continues to grow, we are working hard to ensure that we hire the brightest and most astute team-oriented individuals.

“Company culture, employee morale and work life balance are at the forefront of what makes us such a strong and desirable company.”

Brentwood, Tennessee-based Churchill Mortgage Corp. reported last month that it hired 24 employees at branches in eight states.

A Sept. 27 statement from Churchill said 33 employees had been hired for branches in nine states.

“The tremendous growth we have experienced in 2016 reflects our intensified recruiting efforts to ensure we continue supporting the needs of borrowers across the country,” Churchill Mortgage President Mike Hardwick said in the statement. “These individuals are equipped with a wealth of industry expertise and a passion to help others, both of which are critical to Churchill’s growth and success.”
