Several real estate finance firms have been recently adding to theirs staffs, with many of the new positions being in mortgage production.
Ted Tozer, president of the Government National Mortgage Association, reportedly told Bloomberg last month that he wants to add as many as a hundred new positions. The hirings, if approved by Congress, would enable the company to help replace contractors whose costs aren’t subject to current limits.

Several dozen employees have been hired
by Inlanta Mortgage since the beginning of this year, a March 31 statement said.
The new positions, located in Illinois and Wisconsin, include loan originators, mortgage processors and underwriters. Also signing on were administrative employees.
Jobs are currently open at Inlanta’s Brookfield, Wisconsin, headquarters.
“While Inlanta Mortgage continues to experience growth through expansion, the spring home buying season and reasonable mortgage rates have prompted our corporate office and branch offices to further expand their teams to accommodate the increase in business,” Inlanta Mortgage Director of Human Resources Jan Priem said in the announcement.
Headcount at Inlanta is more than 220 employees.

Last week, Churchill Mortgage announced the addition of 15 new employees. The positions are located in branches in California, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
Brentwood, Tennessee-based
Churchill, which reports a staff of more than 300 people, reported in April that 27 people were hired on in branches California, Mississippi, Washington, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
A month earlier, Churchill issued a statement that it was actively recruiting loan specialists across the country. In addition, the statement indicated that 14 people were hired for branches in California, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

An April 20 news release from the Kevin Leonard mortgage professional team said that the group is recruiting loans originators in San Diego. The recruits will handle business from real estate agents.
“Because of the newest interest in discount real estate brokerages in San Diego, the group is in need of more mortgage originators to help pre-qualify potential home buyers,”
the statement said.

Movement Mortgage said in January than it is building a new headquarters facility in Lancaster County, South Carolina. The expansion is expected to result in the addition of 650 employees.
A news article published in April by The Freelance-Star said that a new office in Eagle Village, Virginia, was expected to result in the addition of 10 new employees by Movement.
