Mortgage bankers and their service providers continue to make headway improving the mobile experience for prospective borrowers and lenders alike. Bankers have some tips about mobile security.

Consumers can
take steps to protect their mobile devices from hackers, according to the American Bankers Association. Among 12 precautions outlined was utilizing the pass code lock on a phone.

Other tips from ABA include logging out of banking applications, installing security software and downloading updates. Avoid storing sensitive data like passwords or social security numbers on phones.

The trade group also suggests avoiding malicious software, alerting financial institutions when a phone is lost and being aware of people watching you input data. ABA additionally suggests not accessing bank sites while on a public Wi-Fi network.

The Motivity Anywhere mobile app recently launched by Black Knight Financial Services Inc. reportedly enables mortgage lenders to instantly access critical business intelligence on Apple and Android devices. The app leverages the LoanSphere Motivity platform.

“Version 2.0 of the app, available at the end of 2016, will include high-level graphical summary data of key performance indicators, with the ability to drill down for granular information to help users easily identify the source of any issues,” Black Knight stated. “Users will have instant access to critical business metrics, such as trending, goals versus actual results, and much more.”

A strategic alliance announced on Nov. 1 gives Black Knight Paragon MLS customers access to Homesnap Pro, an application that provides real estate agents’ MLS capabilities on their phones.

Improvements to the borrower-facing ConsumerAssist, which can be accessed from a mobile device, help boost leads while cutting production costs, OpenClose announced last month.

According to West Palm Beach, Florida-based OpenClose, lender alerts are triggered when prospective borrowers complete applications.
ConsumerAssist features, including mobile applications, can be customized and branded based on lenders’ preferences.

The
FairwayNOW mobile application, which  will be released next month, enables home loans to be closed in as few as 10 days, Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp. announced on Monday.

The new application reportedly makes it possible for customers to apply for a loan in less than 10 minutes and scan documents with their phones’ cameras.
They can also review loan status.

“The app’s cutting-edge technology also facilitates constant communication with the borrower and real estate professional with one-click call or text capabilities,” Fairway stated.
