Attendance at the recent mortgage broker conference was better than it has ever been, prompting an optimistic outlook for the industry.
The 40th Annual NAMB Conference was hosted by the Association of Mortgage Professionals from Sept. 13 through Sept. 15.
The theme of the event, which was held at the Luxor Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, was The Future is Now Open for Reservations.
A statement from the trade group indicated that 2,100 people showed up at the conference, up 20 percent from last year and “record-setting attendance.”
The Plano, Texas-based organization indicated that “signs are pointing to a rebound in the mortgage industry.”
Donald J. Frommeyer, who was named NAMB’s chief executive officer earlier this month, expressed optimism about the attendance.
“t was very encouraging to see an increase in the mortgage broker turnout from previous years,” Frommeyer stated in the announcement. “The housing market as a whole has had ebbs and flows over the past few years, but the energy in the industry is starting to return.
“People are starting to get their confidence back.”
