The head of Citigroup Inc.’s mortgage business has announced a new lineup.
Disclosure of the management changes came Tuesday in an internal company message from CitiMortgage Inc. Chief Executive Officer Sanjiv Das, who called having the right leaders “critical.”
Among the appointments was Mark Danahy, who was hired as head of origination services. He will oversee direct to consumer, marketing and pricing execution.
Danahy’s most-recent prior position was CEO of PHH Mortgage, where he held the title from January 2009 until May 2010. He originally started in 2000 at PHH Mortgage as controller.
New York-based Citi noted that the loan fulfillment operation team will jointly report to Danahy and Harold Lewis, who took over as chief operating officer. Lewis is responsible for ensuring that CitiMortgage develops, implements and optimizes common operating standards across the entire mortgage platform.
Taking Lewis’ prior job as head of Citi’s homeowner assistance program was Vikram Jaipuria.
Other appointments include Vasif Imtiazi to chief of staff in addition to managing strategy and franchise management; former Office of the Comptroller of the Currency chief administrative officer Randy Black to the role of chief administrative officer for CitiMortgage; and Steve Hemperly to director of control and regulatory remediation.
Das additionally noted that Mark Hillis assumed the role of chief customer officer in addition to his role as the head of affluent, and Beni Gradwohl will assume oversight for the data function across the business and develop Alpha Services in partnership with operational services.
Das expressed confidence that his team would help rebuild the mortgage business.
