As a federal housing official was sworn in, a Federal Reserve official announced his intent to resign.

Doug Criscitello was sworn in as chief financial officer of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on Feb. 16, a press release said. He will prepare and account for HUD’s budget, strategic and budget planning. He will also establish and maintain financial systems which process millions of transactions annually to support HUD projects.

Criscitello previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he had been helping establish a public sector financial services practice. Before that he was an executive director at JPMorgan Securities Inc.

Donald L. Kohn yesterday submitted a letter to President Barack Obama indicating his intent to resign as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, a statement said. His resignation is effective at the expiration of his term as vice chairman on June 23. He has been a member of the board since August 2002 and served as its vice chairman since June 2006.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke commended Kohn for “his deep knowledge, experience, and wisdom to bear in helping to coordinate the Federal Reserve’s response to the economic and financial crisis.”

Last month, the National Credit Union Administration said Matthew Biliouris was selected for the new position of special assistant to the NCUA executive director. Biliouris starts his new job next week and most recently served as a program officer in the Office of Examination and Insurance.

BancorpSouth Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Aubrey Patterson was named to the board of directors of The Financial Services Roundtable, a Feb. 23 statement said. The board consists of 11 other members.
