A new application for devices that utilize Apple Inc.’s operating system provides mortgage insurance quotes on the go. The technology promises to minimize the amount of input necessary to obtain quotes for mortgage insurance premiums.
A news release Wednesday from Radian Guaranty Inc. indicated that a new mortgage insurance rate finder is available for iPhones. Compatible devices include the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.
The mobile technology also works on the widely popular iPad tablet.
The free application, which the mortgage insurer says is the first of its kind, requires iOS 5.0 or later.
Radian’s smartphone program is a mobile version of its existing online rate finder. It promises on-the-go access to fast and reliable mortgage insurance rate quotes and is backed by the Philadelphia-based firm’s published rates and guidelines.
“The Radian M.I. Rate Finder is a quick and simple way to determine the M.I. premium rate for one or more products based on Radian’s published rates and guidelines,” an online description of the application says. “All you need to do is input the loan criteria and it does the work for you — eliminating the need to manually calculate the M.I. premium rate using a traditional rate card.
“For a quick quote on your fixed rate loans for single family primary residences with standard coverages, simply use the ‘short’ version of our App. Or use the ‘full’ version for a more comprehensive quote.”
