The chief executive officers of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac testified before Congress about the more than $12 million in bonuses paid to executives at the two government-controlled enterprises.
In the hot seat were Michael Williams, CEO of Washington, D.C.-based Fannie, and Charles “Ed” Haldeman, CEO of McLean, Va.-based Freddie. Also testifying was their regulatory, Federal Housing Finance Agency Acting Director Edward DeMarco.
The three were speaking before the House Oversight Committee on Tuesday.
