Several mortgage bankers and mortgage service providers were among companies recently recognized as best employers. Culture was cited among some for their elevated status.
On Thursday, PrimeLending announced that it was No. 5 among 30 large-company winners in The Dallas Morning News’ 2016 Top 100 Places to Work competition.
It reportedly was the fifth consecutive year on the newspaper’s ranking for the Dallas-based subsidiary of Hilltop Holdings Inc., which employed 2,800 people at the end of last year
Earlier this year, PrimeLending was
ranked by Great Place to Work as the second Best Workplace in Financial Services and Insurance, the 11th Best Workplace for Camaraderie and the ninth Best Workplace for Generation X.

In September, PrimeLending reported that it was recognized by FORTUNE as fifth best place to work on this year’s list of 100 Best Workplaces for Women.
Guaranteed Rate reported on Nov. 11 that it was No. 6 on the Chicago Tribune’s Top 100 Workplaces, up from No. 16 in 2015. It was the fifth year in a row that the Chicago-based firm made the ranking.
Among the perks provided to Guaranteed’s more than 3,200 employees are
an on-site nurse practitioner, an in-house café and a gym with fitness classes as well as dry cleaning services and a game room.

In the
first annual Stevie Awards for Great Employers, the gold award for Employer of the Year in Financial Services was claimed by New American Funding, an Oct. 13 statement said.
Tustin, California-based New American reported headcount of more than 2,100 people as of August.
Mountain America Credit Union touted in September that landed in the sixth spot of
the 2016 Best Credit Unions to Work For from Credit Union Journal.
“It takes hard work and commitment to create a culture of excellence and engagement, but the returns we see in member service and credit union success are invaluable,” Mountain America Credit Union Executive Vice President of Administration Marshall Paepke said in the press release.
No. 41 on FORTUNE magazine’s 100 Best Medium Workplaces was National Mortgage Insurance Corp., a news release last month said. The rankings were determined by surveys from more than 52,000 employees working for hundreds of companies.
Emeryville, California-based National M.I. noted that FORTUNE recently named it
as a Best Workplace for Women.
