A new round of job cuts at Bank of America Corp. has pushed Lone Star State mortgage layoffs past 600 for this year.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based company already had moved forward with six rounds of layoffs since the beginning of 2014.

Impacted employees were located in Addison, Fort Worth, Plano and Richardson — all suburbs of the North Texas city of Dallas.

In all, nearly 540 home lending positions were eliminated.

The latest round involves more Addison employees.

A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the Texas Workforce Commission said that 75 employees will be laid of on Dec. 7.

WARN filings are required two months in advance of planned layoffs involving at least 50 employees — though BofA has made the filings for fewer than 50 jobs.

A spokeswoman confirmed that the impacted employees are in default servicing.

She didn’t respond to a request about why the job cuts are being made, but a statement earlier this year from the company said, “The number of delinquent mortgage loans we service has decreased to one-fourth the peak levels. As we continue to resolve the needs of customers with delinquent loans, we are reducing the size of the operations that support these specialized programs.”

Although this is the second time around for Addison this year, BofA has laid off employees in Fort Worth on three separate occasions this year.
