JPMorgan Chase & Co. has been recruiting mortgage employees at a brisk pace this year, with the latest round of recruiting happening in Illinois.
More than 2,000 hirings during 2011 at the New York-based financial institution include over 300 Arizona positions, dozens of California hirings, job additions in Colorado, more than 800 employees added in Ohio and in excess of a thousand employees recruited in Texas.
Now Chase is looking to fill 400 positions in Chicago.
The jobs being filled include loan processors, underwriters and closers as well as some other open positions at the Chicago operation.
A spokeswoman said in a statement that 90 of the openings will be filled immediately.
The rest of the recruiting will happen early next year.
Chase is holding a job fair at the auditorium of the Chase Tower at 10 S, Dearborn, Chicago, on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.
The company has close ties to Chicago because of its 2004 acquisition of Bank One Corp., which was based in the Windy City at the time of the merger. JPMorgan picked up Jamie Dimon through that acquisition, and Dimon subsequently became chairman and chief executive officer of the combined organization.
