A host of mid-level executives at real estate finance firms have found new homes or been promoted to better positions. There was even some activity in the c-level executive suite.
Twelve-year Bank of America Corp. executive Stephen Smith has joined Stearns Lending LLC as chief financial officer, a statement Thursday from the mortgage banker indicated.
He reportedly has nearly three decades in mortgage banking and financial services, most recently as CFO at Caliber Funding, according to Santa Ana, California-based Stearns.
Leticia Mijes has been promoted by Churchill Mortgage Corp. to fill the newly created position of multicultural market manager, the Brentwood, Tennessee-based company announced Tuesday.
Prior to starting with Churchill in 2015, she reportedly worked for JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. The statement said she has more than 20 years’ experience in mortgage lending.
A new fulfillment center in Orange County, California, is being headed by John Brumund, SWBC Mortgage Corp. announced Monday.
Brumund, whose title is senior vice president of the western division, has more than 20 years in the business.
In addition, San Antonio, Texas-based SWBC said it
hired Scott Mauney as vice president of western division operations and Elizabeth Sumi as vice president of business development for the western division.
Ryan Goldsmith was promoted to wholesale regional manager for the northeast region at Paramount Residential Mortgage Group Inc., a recent statement indicated.
Goldsmith, who has been in the mortgage industry since at least 2003, originally joined PRMG in October 2013 and previously worked for Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp.

GSF Mortgage recently announced that 20-year mortgage industry veteran Todd Pennington joined the company as regional manager in Ohio.
Pennington, who will oversee growth in five states, has experience in both retail and wholesale lending.
Among a pair of hires announced last month by Union Home Mortgage Corp. was Joshua Navaro, who is the
new regional director for the north central region.
Navaro’s five years in the business included a two-year stint at Stearns Lending.
The second hire was Todd
Matthews, who was hired as southeast regional sales manager.
His more than two decades in the mortgage industry included seven years at PNC Mortgage and another seven years at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
Linda Jacopetti was hired by Parkside Lending LLC to direct the operations and execution of government lending, an April 25 press release said.
Her quarter-century in the business included 17 years at Countrywide Home Loans-BofA.
