Strong Second Quarter at SunTrust
$8.8 billion 2nd quarter production August 3, 2004 By MortgageDaily.com staff |
Quarterly volume soared 35% for SunTrust Banks Inc.
The Atlanta-headquartered bank produced $8.8 billion in loans during the second quarter, up from the first quarter’s $6.5 billion, according to spokesman Jim Hines. Volume is down, however, when compared to the second quarter 2003 total of $13.38 billion. The servicing portfolio had a balance of $70.0 billion at the second quarter’s end, which is 10% above the total a year ago, Hines said. SunTrust announced that its second quarter net income rose 10% year-over-year to $364.8 million. |
