| Monthly issuance of Ginnie Mae mortgage-backed securities reached yet another high.April issuance was a record $34.5 billion, the Washington, D.C.-based company reported yesterday. Activity included nearly $7 billion in Ginnie Mae II single-family pools.
During March, issuance was also a record $34.5 billion, while volume was $19.2 billion in April 2008. “We are stable, secure, and steadily growing,” Ginnie Mae President Joseph Murin said in the statement. From January through April, MBS issuance stands at $124.2 billion. During the same period last year, issuance was just $58 billion. |
