Several mid-sized mortgage companies have recently made a number of appointments to their management teams. There’s been plenty of action at smaller firms too.
A recent press release from Nationstar Mortgage Holdings Inc. indicated that Kevin Dahlstrom has been hired on as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. He reportedly has two decades’ experience in marketing.
While Dahlstrom’s background doesn’t reflect mortgage experience, Nationstar Mortgage Chief Executive Officer Jay Bray noted in the statement, “His financial services marketing experience, entrepreneurial spirit and strong leadership skills are exactly the traits we were looking for in our first chief marketing officer.”
Also at Lewisville, Texas-based Nationstar, Karen Tankersley recently left her job as chief compliance officer, Inside Mortgage Finance reported.
At Guild Mortgage Co., Aaron Nemec was promoted to executive vice president and national retail manager, a Sept. 24 statement said. Before starting at Guild in 2008, Nemec worked at Countrywide Home Loans for two years.
In his prior position at Guild as regional manager, his unit generated more than $2.3 billion in production, according to the San Diego-based company.
Guild said last month that it reached an agreement to acquire Comstock Mortgage.
Caliber Home Loans Inc., which recently announced a planned acquisition of Cobalt Mortgage Inc., said it appointed Michael Brown to the role of senior vice president of its national builder division. Brown was hired away from Guild Mortgage, where he spent a year, and previously worked at Bank of America Corp. and MetLife Home Loans during his 25-year career.
In Irvine, Calif., loanDepot LLC recently said it appointed Jon Frojen to the position of chief financial officer. Frojen’s prior employers include First Interstate Bank, IndyMac Bank and Long Beach Mortgage. loanDepot says it originates $1 billion a month and employs 2,800 people.
David Firestone was recently named executive vice president of financial operations at Freedom Mortgage Corp. The CPA been a consultant for the lender since 2003.
In the same announcement, the Mount Laurel, N.J.-based company said it hired Nerissa Hochenberg and Robert Quinn as vice presidents and Ross Aseron as information technology director.
An Aug. 13 statement from Colonial Companies said Richard Harvey was hired as chief compliance officer. His more than a quarter century in the business included time at the American Bankers Association. Fort Worth, Texas-based Colonial says it originates $3 billion annually and services $23 billion in home loans.
In Troy, Mich. United Wholesale Mortgage issued a Sept. 16 statement indicating that Laura Lawson was promoted to the newly created position of chief people officer. Lawson, who has been at United Wholesale since 2011, was promoted from the position of senior vice president of marketing.
Lawson’s new job will involve oversight of human resources, recruiting and training, among other things, at the 1,100-employee lender.
The new president of FFC Mortgage Corp. is Doug Reilly, the Rochester, N.Y.-based company announced last month. He’ll oversee an expansion strategy already in place at the firm — which already operates branches in 10 states.
Reilly has more than two decades in the business, including time at InterLinc Mortgage Services LLC, Home Lending Source and Union Home Mortgage Corp.
Allen Price was hired by LoanCare on Aug. 11 as senior vice president, national sales executive, for capital markets business development, a news release stated. Price reportedly has more than 20 years’ mortgage experience.
“Price will oversee LoanCare’s sales department and will help further the company’s sales strategies through new business segments by reaching out to prospective clients,” the announcement said. “He plans to expand LoanCare’s brand into the capital markets area, where he can reach clients such as hedge funds, private equity firms and other asset-backed investors.”
