A number of senior- and mid-level executive appointments have been recently made at mortgage firms. While depository financial institutions were involved in the latest round, so were non-banks.
Gene Ross has transitioned out of his role as president of LoanCare LLC, according to a company announcement, and into the role of executive vice president strategy and business development.
Ross had been president of the Virginia Beach, Virginia-based residential loan servicer since May 1992, his LinkedIn profile says. The announcement gave no reason for the apparent demotion.
“In his new position, Ross will drive business by bringing forth additional prospects for portfolio growth and significant product diversity,” the statement said. “With these responsibilities, Ross will help to further increase LoanCare’s current market share while allowing the opportunity to capture new markets within the industry.”

Dave Worrall stepped in as president on Jan. 11. Worrall was recently president of RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing Corp., and prior to that he spend time at Fannie Mae and ResCap-related entities.
Doug Miller was named president of Evolve Bank & Trust’s mortgage division, an announcement last month said. Miller reportedly has 45 years’ experience in mortgage lending — including time at Citicorp, GMAC Bank and Wachovia.
In Chicago, Nikolaos Athanasiou was promoted to chief operating officer by Guaranteed Rate Inc., a Jan. 6 statement said. He joined the company in 2009. He previously spent four years at Countrywide Home Loans, his LinkedIn profile says.
The new chief marketing officer at
The J.G. Wentworth Co. is John Owens. A Jan. 5 news release indicated that he’ll oversee marketing strategies for businesses including home lending. He previously worked at ING Direct where he reportedly gained experience in support of their mortgage origination business.
imortgage has named Mary Bane vice president regional production for the Midwest. Her prior employers include American Home Mortgage, Bank of America and Prospect Mortgage, according to her LinkedIn profile.

additionally announced that Jim Weir appointed to the same role as Bane for the South Central. Among Weir’s prior employers is BofA.
Joanne Posen has been added as regional sales manager for correspondent lending at Gateway Mortgage Group, the Tulsa, Oklahoma-based firm announced on Jan. 13. With more than three decades in the business, Posen will handle Texas and New Mexico.
In Philadelphia, Pamela Onusko Robichaud has been hired as
area sales manager by New Penn Financial, a statement earlier this month said. She was hired away from “a major national bank” where she reportedly managed upwards of 300 people. Her LinkedIn profile indicates that the national bank was Wells Fargo.
The new national sales director at Service First Mortgage Co. is Joe Treinen, a Jan. 20 statement said. Treinen previously worked at PNC, MetLife Home Loans and BofA, according to his LinkedIn profile.
A second appointment at Richardson, Texas-based Service First was Ian Kimball, who was hired as director of sales development.
Kimball, who is based in Minneapolis, says on his LinkedIn profile that he previously worked at BofA Home Loans, Caliber Home Loans and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
Paul “Buck” Bibb was named business strategist at Finance Home America, a Jan. 21 statement said.
The Houston-based firm noted that Bibb has more than 35 years in mortgage banking — including time as chief executive officer of National City Mortgage Co.
The new chief development officer of Marketplace Home Mortgage is Greg Ettinger, a news release last week said.
Ettinger’s LinkedIn profile shows he worked at PNC Mortgage for three years and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage for 13 years.
Jason Reep has been named mortgage loan origination manager at MidAtlantic Farm Credit, according to a Jan. 5 press release.
The Westminster, Maryland-based company is a local agricultural lender.
