Among recent management appointments in real estate finance are wholesale lending executives, a foreclosure executive and a former chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association.
United Wholesale Mortgage said on Aug. 20 that it promoted Melinda Wilner to the newly created role of chief operating officer. She was promoted from the position of executive vice president of underwriting.
In her new role, Wilner leads more than 500 employees in underwriting, closing and technology. The Troy, Michigan-based company said she will be streamlining operations.
Felix Ortiz was hired as wholesale regional sales manager
for California by Primary Capital Mortgage LLC, an Aug. 28 statement said. With more than 15 years’ experience, Ortiz was previously on the payroll of firms like Real Estate Mortgage Network and Pacific Union Financial.
In Wichita,
Kansas, Darren Copp has been hired as vice president of mortgage lending at CornerBank, a news release earlier this month said. With a quarter-century in the business, Copp’s prior employers include Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and Bank of the West.
At Embrace Home Loans, John McGinty was brought on as
southeast regional lending executive. He oversees all retail sales production and recruiting efforts in the region. McGinty’s more than two decades in the business most recently included time at ServiceLink.
The new
regional vice president in the Pacific Northwest for First California Mortgage Co. is Travis Newbauer, a Sept. 3 statement said. During his 12-year career, Newbauer reportedly worked at Eagle Home Mortgage and GMAC. He’ll be responsible for Oregon and Washington. He has plans for hiring production personnel and opening new branches.
Fay Servicing said Monday
that 21-year veteran Wanda Montgomery has been hired as senior vice president of foreclosure operations. Montgomery, who will work in Carrollton, Texas, most recently worked at Fannie Mae for four years.
John Robbins has been named chairman of the Mortgage Collaborative, a lending cooperative. Robbins previously served as MBA chairman.
In commercial real estate lending, Grandbridge Real Estate said
last month that it recruited Edward M. Coco as senior vice president, director of national accounts, and Matthew B. Casey as vice president. Coco has three decades in the business, and both executives were recruited from GE Capital Real Estate.
At Walker & Dunlop Commercial Property Funding,
Jeffrey Taschler has joined the Bethesda, Maryland-based company as chief operating officer and senior vice president, an Aug. 18 press release indicated. His more than 25 years in CRE lending included a stint at UBS Investment Bank. He’ll originate for the commercial mortgage-backed securities platform from New York.
