Handbooks that are being implemented by the Federal Housing Administration will be published by Ellie Mae Inc.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s HUD Handbook 4000.1, FHA Single Family Housing Policy Handbook, goes into effect on Sept. 14.
The handbook had been set to go into effect in mid-June, but HUD delayed the implementation date after receiving feedback about the deadline.
On Tuesday, Ellie announced that it was awarded a contract by HUD’s single-family office in September 2014 to be the official publisher of FHA handbooks.
The Pleasanton, California, company
began publishing the newest FHA handbook on Monday.
Ellie gained the capability to publish lending guidelines with last year’s acquisition of AllRegs.
Ellie says its publishing platform includes searchable access to current and archived FHA loan guideline documents.
The technology provider noted that it is the exclusive electronic publisher of underwriting and loan product guidelines for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Wells Fargo — among many other big-name mortgage players.
“Its extensive content library of regulations and investor guidelines is relied upon by virtually all of the top 100 U.S. lenders,” today’s announcement stated.
